Silverback Dry Lube SBX11 is perfect for dry, dusty conditions. It penetrates deep into the chain and leaves a waxy finish to prevent dust and debris from sticking. It delivers long-lasting lubrication in extreme conditions, reducing friction and wear to increase chain efficiency.
Proudly developed and manufactured in the UK.
Q: how often should you apply chain lube?
A: in terms of adding lube in between cleans, every one to two weeks should be fine. Use more often if the drivetrain is getting noisy. Just a few drops of lube should be enough, unless you ride on very dirty roads. It is best to clean and lube your chain after every ride.
Q: should I lube my chain after every ride?
A: in the winter months it’s advisable to clean and lube your chain ideally after every ride, depending on where you have been riding. We recommend using a degreaser and chain cleaner to give the chain a thorough, deep clean in order to ensure it’s free of any contaminants or debris before re-lubing.
Q: how much chain lube should you use?
A: start by applying one drop per link (each roller) as you back pedal the chain through the drivetrain and take note where you started to avoid redundant lubing. Slowly run the chain up and down the cassette to help distribute the lube as far down into the rollers and pins as possible.
Q: should you lube your chain after washing your bike?
A: clean and lube it frequently to slow the rate of chain wear. Let the lube dry, then wipe off any excess lubricant so it doesn’t attract more dirt. In general, lubricate your chain whenever it squeaks or appears “dry.” lubing after wet rides will help keep your chain from rusting.
