fi’zi:k – Brand of the Pro’s

fi’zi:k is going into 2017 sponsoring 7 world teams with saddles and with over 50 of the Peloton racing in fi’zi:k R1B shoes

The 7 world teams that will be racing fi’zi:k saddles in 2017 are:

Movistar Team:

UCI Ranked 1 in 2016, the team will continue with fi’zi:k saddles.  Thanks to almost 150 victories, and 1.5 million kilometres race in five campaigns, Movistar Team has maintained the status it has held since its foundation in 1980 as the team to beat in the international peloton. The 2016 season saw Nairo Qunitana stand on top of the final podium of La Vuelta a Espana.

Team Sky:

UCI ranked 3, Team Sky has competed in the UCI World Tour since 2010 with great success, not least in the Grand Tours.  In 2013, 2015 and 2016 Chris Froome stood on the top step of the podium of the Tour de France.

BMC Racing Team:

UCI Ranked 4, BMC Racing is a United States registered UCI World Tour team sponsored by BMC Switzerland.  BMC has recorded 30+ wins per season since 2013 and is hoe to some of the greatest cyclists in the world.

Cannondale-Drapac:

UCI ranked 8, Cannondale-Drapac will not only be continuing the 2017 season on fi’zi:k saddles, but will also be making use of fi’zi:k bar:tape.  They may be the youngest WordlTeam team, with an average age of 26, but their riders have scored enviable results over the team’s ten year history.

FDJ:

A team predominantly composed of French riders, since its inception the team has won 22 Grand Tour stages and in 2014 FDJ won the red jersey at the Giro d’Italia with Nacer Bouhanni.  In the 2014 Tour de France, the got a third place overall with rider Thibaut Pinot.

AG2R La Mondiale:

They are equipping their 2017 race season with matching fi’zi:k saddles and bar:tape.  This French cycling team has had their UCI ProTour status since 2006.  AG2R are historically linked to the Tour de France having participated 21 times since 1993.

Dimension Data for Qhubeka:

Rounding out the 2017 top flight is the first African WorldTour team, Dimension Data, winner of five stages at the 2016 TdF with Mark Cavendish and Steve Cummings, sitting pretty with fi’zi:k saddles.  The team was founded in 2007, steadily working up from a regional team to no being a WorldTour team with bases in South Africa and Italy. It’s also known as Africa’s Team due to it’s focus on helping African talent to the world stage of cycling. The team races to raise funds for the Qhubeka charity to mobilise people on bicycles in Africa.

Outside of the WorldTour, fi’zi:k’s sponsorship of road teams extends to the Pro Continental and Continental levels of men and women’s racing: Aqua Blue Sport, Team Armee de Terre, Team JLT Condor, Team Wiggins and FDJ Nouvelle-Aquitaine Futuroscope.

This past weekend, Damien Howson took the yellow jersey at Herald Sun Tour in Australia, winning in his fi’zi:k R1B cycling shoes.  The 24-year-old Australian retained the lead he’d carved out on Thursday to record one of the biggest wins of his career. The victory continued Orica-Scott’s rich vein of form in Australia’s oldest stage race, this being their third GC victory in four years.

Many big results are expected this year from these teams and their members; and they will all be doing it on fi’zi:k.
